Animal extremist law bolstered
By Shaun Waterman
President Bush yesterday signed legislation designed to give federal authorities expanded powers to prosecute animal rights militants, whose activities the State Department says eclipse terrorism as a security problem for U.S. companies operating in Western Europe.
Mr. Bush signed the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act without fanfare at the White House before an early morning flight to Estonia. The bill is designed to make it easier for federal agents to wiretap and prosecute animal rights extremists who have mounted successful campaigns of harassment against researchers both in the commercial and educational sectors.

The Administration has clamped down on dissenters whistle blowers and library abusers. They have violated civil liberties and human rights. Are you telling me there is a group in America unafraid to protest?[LOL]

I'm telling you there are criminals in America that are unafraid to commit an arson attack against your home or leave a bomb on your porch. If these criminals claim "free speech" to be able to bomb your kitchen because bacon, eggs, cheese and milk are being prepared for your breakfast, maybe now at least, they will not be able to do it again to some else.[BLUSH]

[THUMBUP] Thanks to Congress and the president for this bill. Too many research labs are being vandalized and the cost of security is raising the costs for many research centers.
