TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A lawsuit challenging voter approval of a state constitutional amendment permitting slot machine gambling in two South Florida counties was reinstated Tuesday by an appellate court.
A three-judge panel of the 1st District Court of Appeal ruled 2-1 that a favorable popular vote does not automatically validate a defective constitutional amendment except for minor, technical defects.
